Toni-Ann Singh fue coronada como Miss Mundo 2019

La jamaicana obtuvo el título de belleza uniéndose al grupo de mujeres de color que han sido coronadas durante este año.

El pasado 8 de diciembre Zozibini Tunsi se coronó como Miss Universo, siendo la cuarta mujer de color en ganar un certamen de belleza este año.

Pero dos días atrás se vivió un hecho histórico, la jamaicana Toni-Ann Singh fue la ganadora del Miss Mundo 2019.

Esto marca un precedente en la historia de los concursos de belleza, ya que este año en los cinco más grandes fueron vencedoras mujeres de color lo que representa un giro en los estereotipos de belleza.

Kaliegh Garris se llevó la corona del Miss Teen USA, Miss América fue ganado por Nia Franklin y Cheslie Kryst obtuvo la victoria en el Miss USA 2019.

Zalayna Jenkins, una de las competidoras del concurso escribio en su cuenta de Twitter que "esto nos da esperanza a las mujeres jóvenes negras que quieren estar involucradas en estos espectáculos. También podemos ser aceptadas y ganarle a un sistema que no fue diseñado para nosotras".
